Not keen on exploring Ghent in a large group or with a paper city map in your hand? Then the Lens On Ghent app is just what you need. Download the application to your smartphone or tablet and discover Ghent entirely at your own pace.
You will find various themed routes on a digital map. As you walk, an audio guide will take you past numerous interesting locations. Thanks to the augmented reality function, you will also get a unique glimpse of Ghent in the past.
This AR experience focuses on three locations:
- The Prinsenhof – Forever linked to Emperor Charles V. With your smartphone or tablet, you can see the scale model on Prinsenhofplein come to life.
- The Graslei and Korenlei – Experience the medieval trading centre as if you were there yourself.
- The Bijlokesite – Today a vibrant cultural site, once an important medieval hospital.
